Blessingway

A spiritual ceremony honoring a pregnant woman's journey into motherhood. Providing strength and confidence, aiding her in the transformation of fears, about childbirth, into trust and confidence.

Meet your doula!

After proudly serving in the U.S.Navy and retiring from a rewarding career with the City of Baton Rouge, I had the privilege of accompanying my husband on his military assignments overseas. During this time, I discovered a deep calling to support women through one of the most profound experiences of their lives - birth.

In 2011, I became a certified birth doula through DONA International, and it was an honor to provide physical, emotional, and educational support to women from a diverse range of backgrounds. Over the years, I have worked with military families; service members and spouses, teachers working in Korea from Canada, England, New Zealand, South Africa and the United States, and the Korean community.

Working alongside doctors, nurses, and midwives, I had the opportunity to support women in a variety of birth settings, from home births and birthing centers to hospitals, and in a range of birth experiences from loss to rainbow, IVF to surrogacy and adoption with unmediated deliveries to C-sections. This unique, cross-cultural experience broadened my understanding of birth practices and deepened my appreciation for the strength and resilience of women. The journeys shared by the families l've worked with continue to inspire and shape my practice to this day.

Now based in Ascension Parish, I continue to serve women in their birth journeys. Holding a Birth Doula certification through ICEA and also offering Perinatal Fitness through a CPT certification with ISSA, combining my passion for maternal support with a commitment to wellness. It's my privilege to walk alongside women and their families, providing compassionate care, empowerment, and a steady hand as they navigate their path into motherhood.

Blessingway Doula

As a birth keeper, I’m honored to hold space for the sacred journey of pregnancy through Blessingway, an Indigenous tradition that celebrates, honors and supports a woman’s transition into motherhood, both physically and spiritually. In this nurturing environment, we connect with the deep spiritual, emotional, and physical layers of this experience, honoring each person’s unique wisdom and strength. My role is to provide unwavering emotional and physical support, creating a sacred space that respects, uplifts, and holds each individual in their powerful journey toward birth and motherhood.
