1. Finalize Your Birth Plan
Make sure your preferences are clear and reviewed with your partner, doula, and provider.
2. Pack Your Hospital or Birth Center Bag
Include essentials for you, your partner, and your baby.
3. Prepare Your Postpartum Recovery Station
Set up pads, diapers, snacks, water, and comfort items in the areas you’ll rest most.
4. Install the Car Seat
Do this at least a few weeks early — and get it inspected if possible.
5. Practice Comfort Techniques
Breathing, movement, counterpressure, and relaxation can make a world of difference.
6. Discuss Support Roles
Make sure your partner understands your preferences, coping strategies, and when to call your doula.
7. Stock Up on Meals & Snacks
Future-you will thank you for freezer meals and grab-and-go postpartum snacks.
8. Set Up Baby’s Sleep & Care Area
Keep it simple — diapers, wipes, onesies, feeding supplies, and a safe sleep space.
9. Confirm Care for Pets or Older Children
Peace of mind helps labor progress more smoothly.
10. Save Important Numbers
Add your doula, OB/midwife, L&D desk, and partner support numbers to your favorites.
